If you’re planning to work at a broker or dealer in the US, it’s almost certain that they’re a member of FINRA and that you’ll need to take and pass the Series 7 exam and earn your General Securities Representative license. This exam requires sponsorship by member firms, meaning that you need to be employed by them to take the test. Kaplan Financial’s Series 7 prep packages come with study options and tools to fit your availability and learning style. A customizable study calendar is available for you to list and schedule daily tasks to coincide with the date of your exam.
They offer three Series 7 prep packages: Basic, Essential, and Premium. Kaplan’s Premium Instruction Package is split into two types, but both feature access to all the available study tools, including instructor link, class notes, mastery and checkpoint exams, and video library. The OnDemand Class gives you access to instructional videos, while the live online class allows you to participate in a scheduled live online class. The Premium study preps start at $279.
The Basic and Essential Study Packages are self-study courses with access to selected tools such as the tips and content updates, practice exam, SecuritiesPro QBank, and license exam manual. A performance tracker notes your progress and shows you the areas of the exam where you need to improve. These self-study packages start at $139.
You have access to Kaplan’s Series 7 course for five months. You can also request to extend that access for another five months for $49.
Knopman Marks Series 7 top-off exam prep offers both self-study courses at $350 and in-person or live training for an additional $225. If you’re living in or around New York, you can attend their in-person class, if not, you can join a scheduled remote online class.
You have the option to bundle the self-study and live training for $575. Securities Training Corporation (STC) Series 7 test prep packages start at about $220. Their top-tier package, Premier Plus, costs about $427 and features their STC Pass Guarantee. It also includes their on-demand lectures and flashcards, access to the instructor hotline, course updates, online and printed study manuals, live virtual or in-person class, and progress exams. Students have access to all the materials for six months.
There’s an option to purchase the courses or the study materials individually. What this means is that Series 7 test-takers can just pay access to the flashcards or the on-demand lectures. They can also join a scheduled virtual class where they will be given a printed study manual and access to a Series 7 Final Exam. Individual prep courses range from $65 to $350.
ExamFX offers three Series 7 exam package options, which are the Self-Study, Video Study, and Live Online. Each comes with different levels of access to their materials.

The most expensive package is about $368, which features add-ons like the flashcards, video lectures, and audiobooks. Add another $37.95 for a hard copy upgrade of the digital guide. Multisession live classes are also available at a scheduled time for $200.
